Statement by the Board of the HAC concerning the study programme “Gender Studies”
In response to the numerous requests for information addressed to the Hungarian Accreditation Committee concerning the closure of the study programme “Gender Studies” the HAC issues the following statement. The HAC acts as an expert in, and issues expert opinions, as part of the approval processes of framework learning outcome requirements for new study programs and for launching new study programmes at higher education institutions recognized in the National Higher Education Act. The HAC is not legally mandated and is thus not involved in closing programmes or in reviewing the programme portfolios of higher education institutions. Consequently it is not involved in the process of discontinuing the study programme “Gender Studies”. The HAC is not aware of any professional or scientific reason for closing the programme.
2017 Meeting of the HAC's International Advisory Board
The International Advisory Board of the Hungarian Accreditation Committee held its annual meeting at the HAC offices on 10 November 2017. The items on the agenda and the meeting documents comprised the HAC Annual Report 2016/17; the draft Self-Assessment Report for the ENQA review the HAC will undergo in spring 2018; and the Follow-up on the 2016 Board Recommendations. Concluding the meeting the Board issued its 2017 Recommendations.
2016 Meeting of the HAC's International Advisory Board
The International Advisory Board of the Hungarian Accreditation Committee meets annually to review the work of the HAC in the preceding year and to discuss topical issues. The 2016 meeting took place on 28-29 October. Click here to see the recommendations.
Malaysian delegation in the HAC
Headed by Prof. Dr. Hazman Shah Bin Abdullah, the delegation of the Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA) visited HAC on March 24, 2016. MQA initiated a project of cooperation between the two agencies aiming at mutual recognition of accreditation decisions and higher education qualifications.

Not Accredited Programs on HAC Website
In order to inform the interested public, the HAC has issued a press statement that it has published its list of college and university programs (list in Hungarian) that it has not accredited based on its quality standards, but which are offered to students for the fall semester 2016 after being registered by the Educational Authority.
